Virology surveillance scheme
The virology surveillance scheme is used to monitor the spread of flu, COVID-19, and other respiratory illnesses in different regions across the UK. It is also used to measure the effectiveness of flu and COVID-19 vaccinations using results from the virology swabs. If your GP practice is taking part, they can provide you with the voucher code to order a test. Further information can be found here.
The TARGET study
What is the study about?
The study is to see whether advertisement posters or other people (known as Testing Champions) are an acceptable way to promote home testing for HIV, hepatitis B and hepatitis C for men and transgender people who have sex with other men. These Testing Champions will be remunerated for their participation in the study. The amount of remuneration Testing Champions receive will vary because as part of the study we would like to find out if this makes a difference to the success of this method for promoting testing.
